Inventum is the result of decades of collaboration between the principles of the firm. We worked together at one of the largest engineering firms in the world and completed projects across the globe, joined a power project developer to successfully site and permit multiple power projects in the U.S., and successfully navigated and gained regulatory approval for redevelopment of brownfield properties. We are extensions of our clients staff, more than engineers and scientists, we help our clients manage the evolving business environment.

John Black, P.E.
John Black serves as the president and managing partner of Inventum Engineering. John has over 41 years of experience in development, program management, and civil/environmental engineering. His expertise ranges from program management, permit application and compliance protocols, site selection and analysis, community relations, liability assessment and management, geotechnical concerns, and environmental liability identification and resolution.

Todd Waldrop, P.E.
Todd Waldrop is a partner with Inventum Engineering with over 20 years of practical and progressive professional experience that includes brownfield site development/permitting in the power sector as well as extensive work in the design and implementation of remedial solutions for contaminated properties. His successful engineering and management experience includes the investigation and remediation of projects in a variety of state and federal regulatory environments.

James Edwards is a partner with Inventum Engineering with over 17 years of professional experience. His experience includes implementing and managing the re-development of brownfields including large GSA projects and contaminated industrial properties; construction dewatering and groundwater remediation; hazardous building material assessments and abatement; and environmental due diligence including Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments
